In this tense story of an unusual love triangle, middle-aged Ann and her teenage daughter Joanna manage a failing hotel on an island off the British coast.
One day the hotel receives a rather unexpected but very welcome guest called Joe. Joe and Ann had enjoyed an affair 20 years previously, and soon find themselves renewing their relationship. However this time round Ann soon discovers that she has a serious rival for Joe's affections, in the form of her daughter Joanna.

Out of Season was at one time to have been directed by the noted playwright Harold Pinter, but he was eventually replaced by stage and screen veteran
Alan Bridges.
