The Melting Pot - Spike Milligan's Lost TV Comedy Series (DVD)

£19.99

One of British television's most controversial and least-seen sitcoms — now available complete for the first time on DVD.

Written by Spike Milligan and Neil Shand, The Melting Pot was pulled from the schedules after just one transmitted episode in June 1976, making it one of the most talked-about lost shows in British TV history. The remaining six episodes were recorded but never broadcast — until now.

The story follows Mr. Van Gogh and Mr. Rembrandt, a father and son who arrive illegally on an English beach — having been convinced it's Piccadilly Circus — and end up lodging at a boarding house on the fictional Piles Road, London WC2. Their landlord is Irish coalman Paddy O'Brien, assisted by his daughter Nefertiti, with a colourful cast of fellow tenants including a black Yorkshireman, a Chinese cockney and a Scottish Arab.

A genuine piece of lost British television history, presented here in a digitally remastered edition across 2 discs.
